Mar Sánchez is a Spanish composer, guitarist, singer and bandleader.
Musically trained in the City of Barcelona, graduated from the Higher Conservatory of Music of the Liceo. He has combined Classical Music studies with Modern Music and Jazz Studies in ESMUC, Royal Welsh College of Music and Music Workshop.
Mar has led bands from rock to black music. He has performed classical music, chamber music and contemporary music. He has composed flamenco, rock, jazz, blues, classical and contemporary music.
He has constantly collaborated with other artistic disciplines, such as dance, interpretation, performance or painting.
With 30 years dedicated to the guitar, Mar Sánchez has forged a unique career that combines technical virtuosity, creative passion and an inexhaustible curiosity about the limits of music.
Originally from El Viso del Alcor, Seville, her musical identity draws on Andalusian roots, but expands towards a global spectrum that ranges from flamenco and blues to classical and contemporary music.
In 2024, Mar marked a milestone in her career by spending four months in the United States. For three of them, she was a special guest of the Cuban band Cimafunk, touring stages in an experience that highlighted its versatility and connection with diverse audiences.
He then spent a month in Boston recording the final compositions for his first solo guitar album, which will be released in early 2025. This project represents a return to his creative roots and the consolidation of a deeply personal musical language.
In 2025, Mar begins an exciting and authentic stage. After years of collaborating with great artists and participating in multiple projects, she has decided to focus her energy on her own music and composition. This will lead her to make her first solo concert tour, presenting her
original compositions for guitar, with an intimate and direct approach that seeks to connect deeply with the audience.
At the same time, in March 2025 he will record an album with his electric format, Mar Sanchez & Electric Band, in Andalusia, he is currently finishing the demos of the compositions, where he performs singing and playing the electric guitar.
This challenge reflects her ongoing commitment to learning and artistic evolution. In parallel, she is working on obtaining an artist visa for the United States, with the aim of continuing to develop her career internationally.
