JUST GUITAR

In 2025, Mar launches her first solo tour to present her debut album, Solo Guitar. This intimate and personal project reflects her passion and mastery with the guitar, taking the public on a journey through her original compositions and interpretations of works by J.S.Bach, Astor Piazzolla, Heitor Villalobos or Jimi Hendrix. The concerts will take place in intimate spaces such as galleries, foundations, chamber theaters and special formats such as Tiny Desk, creating a welcoming and close atmosphere. Born after the success of her collaboration with Cimafunk and the recording of her album in Boston, this proposal represents a decisive step in her consolidation as a soloist. With a simple but powerful staging, Solo Guitar celebrates the essence of the guitar and opens a new chapter in her artistic career.

MAR SANCHEZ & ELECTRIC BAND

Guitar, Voice, Bass, Keyboard and Shytns, Drums. After years touring as a guitarist in various projects, Mar never left aside her personal search. Between tours, recording sessions and productions for other artists, she found time to work on her music: an electric and instrumental universe that, over time, grew to incorporate her facet as a singer and composer. This album, which has taken more than four years of struggle and dedication, will finally be recorded in 2025 at the Sagrista Studios in Punta Paloma, Andalusia, where Mar crystallizes her musical vision. With electric guitar in hand and a voice that resonates from the depths of her being, Mar Sánchez presents her electric format, Mar Sánchez electric band! This band becomes a sound laboratory where jazz fusion, rock, flamenco, classical music, art music and contemporary sounds converge in a vibrant, eclectic and deeply avant-garde experience. The sound of Electric Band goes beyond the conventional. With a band made up of exceptional musicians – Pablo Cadenas on electric bass, Sergio Fargas on drums, and Gregorio Herreros on keyboards and synthesizers – the project draws a synergy that transports the listener to a constantly evolving universe. Rooted in flamenco, Mar Sánchez transforms this heritage into something surprisingly new by integrating it with the power of her electric band. In February 2025, Mar Sánchez & Electric Band will release a verkami destined to the realization of this work, the first album in which Mar debuts as a singer. A musical journey without limits that combines tradition with futuristic exploration, taking you towards new horizons in the current sound scene. ELECTRIC LADY, J.HENDRIX REVIVAL

I am a devoted fan of Jimi Hendrix. I have always loved his music and playing his songs. I was recently gifted with an autobiography about his life: “Starting from scratch”. It has been a revelation. His personality, depth and honesty have stolen my soul. Consequently, I have felt the need to extract some of his ideas about life and music; with which I totally identify: “The guitar and music are the most important things for me.” “I like Bach and Beethoven.” “When I recorded “Hey Joe”, it was the first time I tried to sing for a recording. I couldn’t sing because I was so scared.” “We don’t want to be pigeonholed into any category. My music is mine, my guitar is my notes, our notes, it doesn’t matter where they come from.” “I try to be honest and myself.” by Jimi Hendrix. I am moved and excited by his message. When I sing his lyrics, I feel sensations that have been a reality and a truth in my life as well, and I share his way of seeing and expressing it. I want to revive the music of Jimi Hendrix, but reviving it means interpreting his songs as myself, as he would have liked. The creative force of this legendary artist is absolutely inspiring to me. His music is a gift. My intention is to thrill and captivate. I enjoy and experience it with true passion and I like to transmit those feelings to the public. I want to express, from a female perspective, the feeling of plenitude that connects me to the world. I propose an electrifying live performance, which celebrates the magic and lasting influence of Hendrix through fresh and unique reinterpretations.

A collaboration born in the brilliant world of Cirque du Soleil. It was in this dream setting where Michele Clark, the talented American hula hoop artist, and guitarist Mar Sánchez met for the first time. Since then, their artistic connection has been very intense, they love playing together!
